KLE Tech and Samsung Research Institute Bangalore (SRI-B) have forged a long-standing partnership that is redefining industry-academia collaboration. At the heart of this collaboration is the SEED Lab (Student Ecosystem for Engineered Data), launched on 31st July 2021 at the Center of Excellence for Visual Intelligence (CEVI). This initiative was envisioned to foster a robust innovation ecosystem, enabling students and faculty to work alongside Samsung engineers on cutting-edge projects in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
The SEED Lab supports Samsung’s Powering Digital India vision while furthering KLE Tech’s mission to deliver real-world impact through research. This collaboration is not just infrastructural—it’s deeply experiential. Under the Samsung PRISM program, students and professors engage in live, high-impact projects that require creative thinking, technical depth, and agile problem-solving.
As part of our evolving partnership with Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore (SRI-B), KLE Tech faculty members are offered exclusive opportunities to intern as PhD researchers in cutting-edge domains such as Edge AI and Visual Intelligence. This unique program is designed to bridge academic inquiry with industrial application—enabling our faculty to gain hands-on experience solving real-world technological challenges.
So far, six faculty members from KLE Tech have benefitted from this initiative, deepening their research expertise and enhancing their ability to mentor students on frontier topics. These immersive experiences not only accelerate individual growth but also elevate the university’s capacity to lead in emerging fields.

Through this partnership, our faculty and students engage with advanced technologies across key areas such as camera system solutions, image quality optimization, sensor characterization, driver development, and diagnostics.
