The Center for Automation & Robotics Research (CARR) at KLE Tech is a multidisciplinary innovation hub driving advancements in smart manufacturing, digital twins, and human-robot collaboration. CARR serves as a critical bridge between academia and industry, empowering faculty, students, and industry experts to collaboratively solve real-world engineering challenges. With advanced infrastructure, strong industry partnerships, and expert mentorship, CARR cultivates a new generation of innovators equipped with the skills to build scalable, intelligent, and industry-ready automation solutions.
Established in January 2024, the Center for Automation & Robotics Research (CARR) is envisioned as a collaborative ecosystem for high-impact research in intelligent automation. Bringing together expertise from mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computer science domains, the center fosters interdisciplinary approaches to tackle complex industry problems.
CARR focuses on three strategic domains—Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twin, and Human-Robot Collaboration. These initiatives often intersect with other STAR Labs such as CEVI, CAIR, EVIC, and CIM, enriching the research culture and enabling integrated innovation. The center’s mission is to drive industrial resilience, agility, and efficiency through advanced prototyping, applied research, and experiential learning.
