Center for Automation & Robotics Research (CARR)

The Future of Automation

The Center for Automation & Robotics Research (CARR) is where innovation in smart manufacturing, digital twin, and human-robot collaboration comes to life. Designed as a bridge between academia and industry, CARR empowers students and researchers to solve complex engineering problems through interdisciplinary collaboration and advanced prototyping. Backed by cutting-edge infrastructure and guided by expert faculty, the center fosters industry partnerships and fuels the development of industry-ready talent and solutions.

Driving Intelligent Automation

Established in January 2024, CARR is envisioned as a hub for pioneering research and application in intelligent automation. The center integrates mechanical, electronics, and computer science disciplines to address real-world challenges across sectors. Faculty and students at CARR engage in research across Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twin, and Human-Robot Collaboration, often working in synergy with other STAR Labs such as CEVI, CAIR, and CIM. The center’s mission is to build resilience, agility, and productivity in industry through innovation, hands-on learning, and applied research.
