Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) have become a crucial topic over the past two decades, especially with the establishment of the WTO and the TRIPS agreement. IPR encompasses patents, copyrights, trademarks, designs, plant variety protection, trade secrets, and geographical indications. At KLE Law College, we recognize the importance of fostering academic debate and research to generate creative solutions to contemporary challenges.
In today’s globally connected era, it is essential to equip students with knowledge of various forms of IPR protection, enabling them to innovate and safeguard their ideas effectively. Navodbhava – The IPR Cell, inaugurated on 13th October 2018 by Prof. (Dr.) V. Sudesh, Bangalore University, was established to enhance the intellectual property knowledge and research capabilities of our students. Additionally, the Cell strives to raise public awareness about IPR through education and outreach.
To achieve these objectives, Navodbhava focuses on two key strategies: spreading knowledge about IPR to create an informed generation of innovators, and conducting research into novel and relatively unexplored areas of Intellectual Property Rights.
