Pathways to Research Excellence

At our Belagavi campus, we offer a wide range of master’s and doctoral programs across all schools and departments. These programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and research orientation required to contribute meaningfully to academia, industry, and society.

Our research students work closely with faculty, research groups, and interdisciplinary centers. Guided by leading experts and supported by talented peers, pursuing a Ph.D. or master’s by research here can serve as a gateway to a rewarding career in academia, research organizations, or professional fields.

We also emphasize undergraduate research experience, enabling students to grow beyond traditional classrooms and laboratories. Through dedicated courses, undergraduates gain exposure to research methodologies, apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts, explore academic literature, and engage directly with faculty and research mentors. To support this, the University has introduced structured courses across all schools and departments to help students build strong research foundations.

  • RESEARCH EXPERIENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATES (REU)

Exploring Through Research

The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) course is designed to provide students with an immersive introduction to research by engaging them directly in ongoing projects or specially designed research programs. Each student is associated with a specific project and works closely with faculty mentors and research teams.

Through REU, undergraduate students get the opportunity to:

  • Develop research skills, understand disciplinary practices, and build strong technical knowledge.
  • Cultivate interest in higher studies and future research careers.
  • Explore valuable networking opportunities with faculty, peers, and industry collaborators.

Research Through Internships

The University funds and supports faculty-led long-term research projects that focus on emerging technologies and future-relevant themes. These Institutional Research Projects (IRPs) aim to advance innovative research, technologies, and product ideas while encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. Undergraduate students can join IRP groups as interns, gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies. Through this experience, they develop critical research skills such as conceptual thinking, inquiry, creativity, problem-solving, and integrative learning—helping them build a strong research mindset.
