Admission & Access Policy

Borrowing & Usage

  • Books are issued on Barcoded Membership Cards.
  • Library cards are not transferable; sub-lending of books is prohibited.
  • Issue Timings:
    • Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Overnight Books: Issued 1 hour before closing on working days and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on holidays.
  • Overdue Fine: ₹1.00 per book per day.
  • Reference books, handbooks, periodicals, encyclopedias, standards, and damaged books are not issued; they must be consulted inside the library.
  • If one volume of a set is damaged or lost, the borrower must replace/pay for the entire set.
  • Loss or misplacement of the library card must be reported immediately to the Librarian.

Conduct & Discipline

  • Writing, damaging, or marking on books/journals is strictly prohibited; violators will be held responsible.
  • Outwear, bags, umbrellas, files, and personal books are not allowed inside the library (deposit at the property counter).
  • Members should maintain silence, peace, and dignity within the library.
  • Mobile phone use is strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • Membership privileges may be suspended due to misbehavior or indecent conduct.
  • Do not earmark or fold pages of books.
  • Suggestions for new books or service improvements are always welcome.

Loss of Books

  • Borrower must replace the lost book with the latest edition, plus overdue charges.
  • If replacement is not possible: pay twice the latest price of the book + ₹100 processing fee.
