B.Arch Bachelor of Architecture

Engineering the Future of Materials and Energy

Architecture is a passion, a calling, and a responsibility—one that shapes the spaces we live in and the societies we build. The five-year B.Arch program at KLE Tech is designed to nurture thoughtful designers who can respond to the cultural, ecological, and technological needs of the world around them. We guide students to become architects who are both creatively driven and technically proficient, grounded in ethics and global awareness.

From the start, students engage deeply with design studios that explore form, space, and context. These are supported by courses in history, theory, structures, visual representation, and materials. As they progress, students tackle more advanced projects, work with digital tools like Rhino and Revit, and choose electives that align with their evolving interests.

The program includes a fourth-year internship with a licensed architect or firm, offering real-world exposure to the profession. In the final year, students undertake a comprehensive thesis project—bringing together research, design, and critical thinking to shape bold, meaningful architectural solutions.

Career and Impact Beyond the Classroom

Our Bachelor of Architecture program cultivates creative and practical skills needed to design sustainable, culturally sensitive spaces. With a strong foundation in artistic and technical principles, our graduates are expected to:

01

Demonstrate artistic sensitivity and creative powers to plan and execute designs with socio-cultural, environmental, and technological considerations.

02

Lead multidisciplinary design teams with intellectual rigor and responsible decision-making.

03

Engage in lifelong learning and professional development through advanced education, research, and practice.

04

Advocate for sustainable and equitable built environments that respond to diverse community needs.

Graduate Attributes You’ll Carry Forward

01

Professional Communication

Write and speak effectively; use representational media for both technical and public audiences.

02

Design Thinking

Frame precise design questions, consider multiple viewpoints, and test solutions.

03

Investigative Skills

Conduct research-based investigations, analyse data, and draw valid conclusions.

04

Architecture Design Skills

Apply formal, environmental, and organizational principles in two- and three-dimensional design.

05

Pre-Design

Prepare comprehensive project programs, assess client/user needs, analyse site and code requirements.

06

Site Design

Respond to site context—urban fabric, topography, climate, ecology—in design solutions.

07

Codes & Regulations

Design in compliance with life-safety, accessibility, and sustainability standards.

08

Technical Documentation

Produce clear drawings, specifications, and models illustrating material and system assemblies.

09

Structural Systems

Understand and apply principles of structural behaviour under various loads.

10

Environmental Systems

Design passive and active systems for thermal comfort, lighting, and acoustics.

11

Building Technology & Material Assemblies

Select appropriate materials, systems, and assemblies for performance and durability.

12

Professional Practice & Ethics

Navigate stakeholder roles, project management methods, business practices, legal responsibilities, and ethical conduct.

13

Integrated Evaluations

Make design decisions that balance multiple systems, criteria, and sustainability goals.

14

Service Systems

Integrate lighting, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire-safety systems.

What You'll Achieve Through This Program

01

Demonstrate critical thinking through self-reflective conceptualization, evaluating alternative design perspectives.

02

Apply a client-centered, sustainable design decision-making process through technical documentation.

03

Integrate building materials, systems, and construction practices to develop comprehensive, context-sensitive architectural solutions.

04

Synthesize knowledge of life-safety, accessibility, and sustainability into schematic and detailed design phases.
